Booking System – Scheduled Maintenance 

(UPDATED: 12:00pm, Tuesday 14 January 2025)

Please be advised, our booking system will undergo scheduled maintenance from 8pm Tuesday 14 January – 3am Wednesday 15 January 2025. 

Bookings will be unavailable during this time, however available shortly after the maintenance is completed. 

Aquatic Centre – 50m Pool Closed

(UPDATED: 9:00am, Friday 11 July 2025)

The 50m pool will be closed on Saturday 12 July from 12:30pm – 5pm for algae treatment. 

Sporting Field 7 and Athletics Track Closures – Lighting Works

(UPDATED: 1:45pm, Tuesday 8 July 2025)

Lighting works for Athletics Centre, Field 7, Field 6 and Beach Volleyball Courts

The UQ Sport Athletics Centre, Fields 6 & 7 and the Beach Volleyball courts will be closed to public between Wednesday 9 July – Friday 11 July. These works are part of an upgrade to the lighting at Field 7. 

As a result, these areas will not be operational on these days. UQ Athletics Centre training operations will be cancelled on the impacted days. 

There is no pedestrian or vehicle access to the affected areas during these times. 

St Lucia Aquatic Centre – 25m Pool Closed

25m Pool temporarily closed

The 25m Pool is currently closed due to a technical failure. Our team aims to get the pool back online for this afternoon.  

We apologise for the late notice and appreciate your understanding as we work quickly to restore this pool.

St Lucia Campus – temporarily closed for storms

Weather Update

As of Monday 24 November at 3:00pm, our Aquatic, Athletics and Tennis Centre is temporarily closed for the safety of our customers during this severe storm.

Please follow staff directions as normal. Thank you for your patience and stay safe during this severe storm.

St Lucia Aquatic Centre – December Pool closure for upgrades

Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades

The UQ Sport Aquatic Centre will be closed from Monday 1 December – Sunday 14 December 2025 to complete essential maintenance and upgrade works.

These works will deliver long-term benefits to all pool users. When the Aquatic Centre reopens, you can expect:
+ New pumps for both pools and filtration systems overhaul to support water quality 
+ Improved accuracy and reliability of pool temperatures with a new 25m pool heater system 
+ Refreshed changerooms featuring non-slip flooring and freshly painted walls. 

We look forward to welcoming the pool community back to an improved Aquatic Centre on Monday 15 December.

St Lucia Athletics Centre – grandstand upgrades

Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades

From Monday 10 November to early 2026, areas of the UQ Sport Athletics Centre will be closed for scheduled refurbishment works.

The athletics track and outdoor training facilities will remain open to the community throughout this period.

The grandstand, function room, administration office, canteen, and accessible toilets will be closed for refurbishment.

Gatton Aquatic Centre – opening hours

Irregular Opening Hours for Gatton Aquatic Centre

Please be advised, the Gatton Aquatic Centre opening hours will be adjusted due to ongoing maintenance. Please see updated opening hours below:

Monday – Friday: 5:45am – 5:30pm

Saturday: 10am – 2pm

Sunday: 12pm – 5:30pm

The opening hours for the Fitness Centre remain unchanged.
