UQ sporting award eligibility criteria |
Blue
Blues Awards have a long tradition at UQ Sport and The University of Queensland. Over the years, Blues have been awarded to sportsmen and sportswomen in recognition of their outstanding sporting achievements and for enhancing the reputation of University Sport. To be awarded a University Blue is held in high esteem and is one of the highest accolades a University athlete can receive. To receive a Full Blue, athletes will have represented their chosen sport at the highest levels. In most sports this will mean selection in national representative teams and/or outstanding performances at national championships. The selection panel also takes into consideration the standard and quality of these competitions.
- The nominee must be either a currently enrolled student of the University or a recent graduate of The University of Queensland;
- The nominee must be a current financial member of UQ Sport at the time of the considered achievements;
- If still a student and where possible, the nominee should have represented The University of Queensland at the Australian Universities Games or other Australian Universities Championships in that year;
- The nominee should have competed for the University club of their chosen sport. Please note that applicants from sports where a University club does not exist will still be considered;
- The nominee must have shown a level of commitment to their club;
