What if my sport isn’t offered at Northern University Games?
A university can compete in other regions only if that sport is:
a) not a qualification sport; and
b) not offered as part of the regional program in their own region or until such time that a region can support a competition ie: AFL may only be offered at the Southern University Games. Universities from the North and East will be permitted to enter an AFL team into the Southern University Games.
Do I need to qualify?
In some sports it is necessary to qualify at Northern University Games before you can register for Australian University Games. Some individual sports (eg: Athletics) have qualification standards that athletes must meet before they compete. View the latest Qualification for Participation policy (PDF).

How are teams selected?
Australian University Sport sets minimum and maximum team numbers. Where your sport has received many expressions of interest, the Sports Specific Manager will conduct trials and select a team accordingly.
How can I pay?
In 2012, the following changes will be made to the Registration Process:
- Each athlete MUST Register and pay the Registration Fee directly to Australian University Sport (AUS). Register here.
- Each athlete MUST also register and pay the abovementioned costs to UQ Sport by the required deadline. You can register and make these payments in person at UQ Sport or online (link provided soon).

Late registrations are accepted if there is space in your sport. You will incur a late registration fee plus any extras e.g. a Transport Pass or Opening Ceremony ticket.
What happens if I need to pull out?
Should you cancel after payment has been made, we cannot refund as we have to book and pay everything in advance. If you are in a team sport and find a replacement athlete, we can then refund you some costs less an administration fee.
Do I need to register on the Australian University Sport website?
Yes – in 2012 all athlete registrations will be processed via the AUS registration form. This is where you will pay your Games registration fee. You will then need to register with UQ Sport so accommodation etc can be booked for you.
View the new registration process.
Can I organise my own transport and accommodation outside of what you provide?
Where accommodation and transport is organised by UQ Sport, it is recommended that all athletes stay and travel together.
If you choose to make your own arrangements, this will be at your own expense. You will also be required to provide the UQ Sport Uni Games coordinator with your accommodation and transport details. The Uni Games and UQ Codes of Conduct are still applicable to you.
What happens if I accidentally register information incorrectly?
