Beach Tennis

Beach Tennis is a new, exciting, fast paced sport that is revolutionising the tennis scene. This new game is a hybrid of tennis, beach volleyball and badminton and is strictly an aerial game, played with volleys and lobs.

While beach tennis follows the same rules and scoring systems as tennis, apart from the aerial aspect, it is played with a raised net (1.7m high), which transforms the game from a power based game of tennis, into a game requiring refined finesse.

Rules

The general rules of Beach Tennis are similar to regular tennis with some variation:

  • The ball doesn’t bounce – volleys only
  • You only have one serve
  • There is no advantage system in points scoring – once it gets to deuce, the next point wins
  • The lines are the same as a Beach Volleyball court, if it lands on the line it is IN!
