University Football Club Back on Top
The University of Queensland Football Club is celebrating a return to the top level of Brisbane Football after a convincing 6-1 win over fellow western suburb rivals The Gap on Sunday. Read More
The University of Queensland Premier Rugby Team took out the 2010 Premier Rugby championship after downing Sunshine Coast Stingrays 19-11 in the Grand Final at Ballymore last weekend. Read More
Two UQ athletes, Francesca Paterson and Angus Morton, along with the University of Queensland Boat Club’s Head Coach (UQBC), Andrew Cruickshank, represented Australia at the recent World University Rowing Championships in Szeged, Hungary earlier this month. Read more

UQ Sport expands scholarship program
The Sports Development division have expanded the Scholarship Program to include two new scholarships. Read more
Clem Jones Sporting Scholar and UQ Medicine student, Campbell Schmidt has finished 19th in the World University Triathlon Championships held in Valencia, Spain at the end of May. Read more
UQ premier rugby have premiership in their sights
After eight rounds of the Premier Brisbane Rugby Competition, The University of Queensland are leading the premiership ladder – five points clear of second place team, Sunnybank. Read more

Wood a strong hand in netball QLD victory

2010 Sporting Scholars Announced
The 2010 Sporting Scholars were formally announced on March 19 at the UQ Annual Blues & Sports Award Dinner held at Hillstone, St. Lucia. Executive Director of UQ Sport, Kim Guerin, presented the 2010 sporting scholars to the 200 plus guests assembled at the gala event. Read more.

Hartley named Sheffield Shield Player of the Year

UQ Sport Scholarship recipient just a small jump away from world record
World Championships long jump bronze medallist and UQ student, Mitchell Watt, has taken the athletics world by surprise with his speedy rise to success, taking out the long jump event at the Brisbane Athletics Classic held at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre on Saturday 6 February. University of Qld and the UQ Cricket Club's Nicholas Buchanan was part of the Australian Cricket Team that won the ICC U/19 World Cup in New Zealand last weekend (30 January) when they defeated Pakistan by 25 runs in the final. Cricket Australia has the full match report.

Steele head first into Winter Olympics qualifying event
Former 2006 UQ Sport Scholarship holder and University of Queensland student, Michelle Steele finished in 2nd place in the skeleton event at the Intercontinental Cup in Lake Placid, USA last week. Read more.
The University of Queensland Cricket Club’s 1st grade Twenty20 team won their semi-final last week and will face Toombul in the Edev Property Group Grade Twenty20 Final at Allan Border over this weekend. Read more.
Buchanan bowls 'em over at World Cup
University of Queensland and UQ Cricket Club youngster, Nicholas Buchanan has bowled over the opposition taking 4 wickets for 16 runs in the U19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand last week. Read more.
