2009 Great Court Race video
Now in its 29th year, the Great Court Race has become one of The University of Queensland’s proudest traditions. The 636 metre lap of the Great Court was first run in 1985 to celebrate the University of Queensland's 75th anniversary, and is based on the historic Cambridge University Race, as depicted in the film, Chariots of Fire.
In addition to the prestigious Great Court Race, this year the event program also includes a 70m sprint race, an inter-college relay, a club relay and a staff relay. Aside from the honour of being able to compete in such a prestigious, unique event, there are great prizes up for grabs to the place winners of each event.
