Stay fit and healthy with some of the sporting facilities and services provided by UQ Sport Gatton - including an indoor sports hall, courts, gym, and numerous sporting clubs.
Opened in July 2011, the UQ Fitness and Aquatic Centre is a state of the art $4.1m facility that has all of your fitness needs covered. The centre consists of a massive weights and cardio room, 25m heated year round pool, change facilities and an undercover BBQ and function space. The centre also acts as the main reception for all things UQ Sport Gatton and all enquiries or queries regarding all services can be answered here.
The Indoor Sports Hall consists of one full size court that is marked for various sports including 2 volleyball courts, 1 netball court, badminton courts and even tennis! It also includes a wood floored class and teaching space for activities such as Yoga, Pilates and Fitness Testing.
5 Tennis courts are available for use day or night. Courts during the day are free to use and of a night, can be used via a coin operated light box.
The Squash centre consists of 2 glass back courts that can be used both day and night. A coin operated light box can be found inside the centre for ease of use.
UQ Gatton has 3 main playing fields which can cater to all football codes, cricket and other activities. The main rugby oval is rated as one of the best in Queensland and can be booked through the UQ Sport Gatton main reception. The cricket oval is steeped in history and provides and played host to many state and international teams.

The UQ Sport Short Course Program is now available at UQ Sport Gatton. Participate in a range of courses, whether you want to improve your fitness; relax after a long day or learn a new skill, we have something for everyone. Specifically designed for UQ Staff, Students and the greater Gatton community the courses are offered on campus at UQ Gatton.
Show off your sporting skills whilst representing your Hall in the annual Resident's Shield - co-ordinated by UQ Sport and inter-hall sport.
The University of Queensland Gatton Halls compete against each other throughout the year for the Men's and Women's Shield with an aggregate total going towards the Residential Shield.
The strong history of inter-halls challenges provides a great spirit at all sporting events. Inter-halls sport strives to encourage the UQ Gatton colleges' residents to actively participate in sporting activities and to build a strong intra-hall atmosphere. With the wide range of sports to choose from and the competition being so accessible, all college residents need to do is contact your hall sport representative to nominate.

As part of the UQ Sport Lifestyle Passport you are entitled to FREE access to the UQ Gatton Gym and participation in five recreation courses dedicated to Halls of Res students!
The recreation courses run for 10 weeks, there is no need to enrol, just turn up to the Recreation Course of your choice. Have fun and get fit while learning something new!

Get involved in Bai Rui Tae Kwon Do, two sessions per week! This fun and energetic martial art, emphasising self defence, self control and self disipline. Tae Kwon Do participants will have the chance to earn real Tae Kwon Do ranking belts in grading during the final weeks of the course.

Pilates is the ultimate all over body workout! Designed to strengthen and elongate your muscles in groups and in isolations. During the classes you will become more aware of improved posture and greater mobility, whilst transforming you body from head to toe.

Boxing for Fitness Course is a high-intensity class for all fitness levels. This non-contact workout uses specific boxing training routines to teach you basic boxing skills while also improving your cardio fitness and strength. This ten-week course is perfect for fat burning and muscle toning. Train in a fun and structured environment with a course that’s suitable for both men and women.
