For the duration of the party, the children play on the pool inflatable castle. The last 15 minutes are generally spent under the marquee where the children enjoy food that you have provided.
The best ages for our parties are children aged six to 14 years. We find that children under the age of six can have difficulties with the depth of the pool if they aren’t confident in the water.
We have a number of fun, colourful buoyancy belts that we can put on children who may be weaker swimmers. The belts are designed to keep you afloat, so they don’t restrict the children at all. All non-swimmers must be accompanied by a swimming adult.
The parties are held at the shallow end of the 50 metre pool and in the Deep end of the 50m pool in lanes 7, 8 and 9. The birthday party is separated from general patrons so that your child has a private party. The area is decorated with ‘Happy Birthday' signs, coloured balloons and table clothes.
Unfortunately due to bad weather (heavy rain, lightening, and thunder) we can not proceed with the party and we may need to cancel it. It would be appreciated if you call the UQ Aquatic Centre the day prior to the party if it is forecasted to be bad weather to discuss the party options.
We are happy to take bookings over the phone, or you can book in person at the UQ Aquatic Centre at St Lucia. There are limited numbers of parties available to be booked, so we highly recommend that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Yes a non-refundable booking fee of $50.00 is required at the time of booking. The balance can be paid on the day of the party.
Yes, we will phone you the week of the party to confirm final numbers of children attending, and the time of the party.
No, we encourage all parents to participate and they are welcomed free of charge.
