UQ Sport Ltd is a not for profit organisation wholly owned by The University of Queensland, and was established in 1911 as "The University of Queensland Sports and Physical Recreation Association".
Since then UQ Sport has developed into a passionate and vibrant organisation that specialises in sport facility management.
Through our management of sport facilities we:
- offer in excess of 380 physical activity courses at some of the best venues in Queensland
- attract over 20,000 participants in social sport, recreation and college sport each year
- help tackle the problems of childhood obesity by involving thousands of children in a range of sporting activities and programs
- are heavily involved in some of the largest sporting competitions and events in Australia.
Our vision is to create communities built on active minds and healthy bodies. Our board and constitution and dedicated corporate team all work towards achieving this vision.
