UQ Inter-Professional Clinics |
The UQ Inter-Professional Clinics are a joint venture by The University of Queensland and UQ Sport and offer a range of programs that are designed to facilitate participation in physical activity with the support of exercise professionals who deliver specialised programs.
The programs offered by the Clinics aim to assist clients to maintain and improve their quality of life, in a safe and friendly environment, which in turn prolongs client independence. The Clinics are available for:
- older adults
- those who are at risk of developing chronic disease such as diabetes, heart and lung disease
- those who have been diagnosed with a disease or problem that prevents participation in a physical activity via traditional pathways.
The knowledgeable and accredited clinic staff work closely with each client to assist in achieving their health, fitness and well-being goals. All programs are based on the principles of self management.
Get Stronger, Live Longer - exercise programs for the older adult

Diabetes Education Program
The UQ Inter-Professional Clinics are offering 8 week Diabetes and Physical Education Programs conducted by an Accredited Exercise Physiologists and a qualified Dietician. Find out more information about this program.
Individualised clinical exercise programs
Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists work on a one to one basis. Tailored programs address the individuals needs, catering for injury rehabilitation, chronic and complex conditions including cancer and diabetes, as well as individuals looking to improve fuctional ability and quality of life. Home visits program
The UQ Inter-Professional Clinics offer a home visits Exercise Physiology service for older individuals who would like to carry out the activities of daily living in their own home. The program provides Exercise Physiology support to be more active, reduce the risk of falls and improve overall well-being. Massage Therapy
The UQ Inter-Professional Clinics now offers Musculoskeletal and Remedial Massage Therapy. Musculoskeletal Massage Therapy can be beneficial in improving overall function, flexibility as well as aid relaxation and relieve stress. Find out more about this service.
Accredited Practicing Dietician
The UQ Inter-Professional Clinics now have an accredited dietician who provides nutritional advice for a wide range of clinical and lifestyle based nutritional problems on an individual basis. Find out more about this service.
Children's programs
