Training times

2012 Season:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, depending on Grade. See the Red Lions website for more information.

 Pre-season commences 10 January, 2012.

Games

Open Grade games played Saturday and U18s games played Sunday. Season runs from March through to September.

Membership fees

Club fees: $400 (adults) or $300 (full-time students).

Equipment           Football boots, shorts and socks and a training jersey. New players without equipment can initially train in running shoes, shorts and a t-shirt.

Description

The UQ Red Lions AFC was established in 1956 and is currently the largest amateur Australian Football Club in Queensland. The club has produced several AFL grade players including Ben Hudson (Western Bulldogs), John Williams (Essendon Bombers) and Scott Clouston (Brisbane Lions).

UQ Red Lions AFC competes in the AFL Queensland State Association Competition in Division 1 (1sts and 2nds teams – more professional players) and Division 2 (3rds and 4ths teams – more social or beginner players).

UQ Bulldogs AFC competes in the AFL Queensland SportsReady Under 18s Competition in Division 2 North.
