Stephanie Hanrahan

Stephanie Hanrahan

Stephanie Hanrahan is an associate professor and director of the sport psychology program at The University of Queensland. She is a registered psychologist and has been the editor of the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology for the past 3 years. She has authored 7 books, 22 book chapters, 44 refereed journal articles, and 42 applied articles. She is currently editing a 57 chapter Handbook of Applied Sport Psychology that will be published by Routledge in 2010. Also being published in 2010 will be the third edition of her co-authored book “The Coaching Process: A Practical Guide to Improving Your Effectiveness.”

Vince Kelly

Vince Kelly

Vince Kelly holds a conjoint appointment with School of Human Movement Studies and also fills the position of Sports Development Manager with UQ Sport. Vince obtained a postgraduate Honours degree in Exercise Physiology (HMS) from The University of Queensland. He also completed his undergraduate degree in Applied Science (HMS) at The University of Queensland. Vince has previously worked in Strength and Conditioning roles with elite and professional sports including the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Australian Rugby Union, Western Force, Fiji Rugby Union, Auckland Rugby Union, and the Queensland Academy of Sport.
 

Dr. Jonathan Peake

Jonathan Peake

Dr Jonathan Peake joined the School of Human Movement Studies in early 2006 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Prior to his appointment, he worked as postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Human Sciences at Waseda University in Japan. He received his PhD from the School of Human Movement Studies, The University of Queensland in 2004. He completed both his honours (1997) and Masters degrees in Physical Education (2000) at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He has taught Exercise Physiology and Recovery and Nutrition for elite athletes in the UQ Sports Coaching program for the past eight years. He has also lectured on topics in exercise physiology and nutrition to coaches in the IAAF Coaching program. His research interests are mainly in the field of exercise, muscle damage and muscle metabolism.

Michelle Cort

Michelle Cort

Michelle is a Sports Performance Dietitian who has specialised in the area, working with elite, development and Olympic athletes, for over 10 years. She has worked for numerous professional sporting teams including the Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans AFL Clubs, the Waratahs and Brumbies Super 14 Rugby Union Clubs, and the Rabbitohs Rugby League Club. She currently works as the Sports Performance Dietitian for the Australian Cricket Team and Cricket Australia and the Gold Coast AFL Club. Michelle spent 4 years working in the Sports Nutrition Department of the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, and she continues to work part time as an AIS Sports Nutrition consultant. 

Jonah Oliver

Sport Psychologist, MAPS, MAAESS, BSc (Hons 1st class), MPsych (Sport & Ex.), PhD (cand. Neuroscience)
 
Jonah Oliver is a registered sport psychologist holding memberships with the Australian Psychologists Board (APS), College of Sport Psychologists as well as being registered with the Australian Association for Exercise and Sport Science (AAESS). Jonah teaches into the sport psychology program at The University of Queensland as well as supervising Masters in Sport Psychology students. He also works at the Queensland Academy of Sport.
 
As an applied practitioner, he has worked with a wide variety of clients: ranging from elite golfers (PGA, USLPGA), Olympic water polo players, professional soccer teams (QLD Roar Hyundai A-League), the new Gold Coast Football Club (AFL), elite tennis players and coaches (Tennis Australia service provider), indigenous performing artists, professional kayakers and endurance tri-athletes to name just a few.
 
Jonah is also the author of several publications and continues to present at conferences around the world.

Andrew Cruickshank

Andrew is the head coach of the UQ High Performance Rowing squad. He previously coached the UQ Boat Club's U21 and Junior squads, and his success with them led him to be appointed as the head coach of the Men’s 2008 Youth Olympics Team.
 
Prior to his appointment at UQ, he was club coach of Melbourne University Boat Club. Cruickshank also held positions with Brisbane Grammar School and Rowing Queensland. Many athletes under his coaching regime have gone on to medal at various Australian Rowing Championship events, and gained selection in national squads.
 
Cruickshank, a Level 3 rowing coach, has completed postgraduate studies in exercise physiology and has worked extensively in this field with British Swimming, Nottingham University and Nottingham County Rowing.  

 

Megan Anderson

Megan Anderson

Dr. Megan Anderson has been a Sport Scientist in Physiology at the Queensland Academy of Sport since 2005. In her current role she is responsible for delivery of sport science to Queensland’s elite swimmers. She has also been heavily involved with the National Swimming program over the past 10 years and was the physiologist on the 2007 and 2009 World Championship teams. Megan completed her PhD through the University of Canberra in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Sport in the performance and physiological monitoring of elite swimmers.
